La Garde-Adhémar

Rhône-Alpes

Built on a sandstone spur, La Garde Adhemar is an open balcony on the Rhône valley, a perfect place to discover the region of Tricastin.

La Garde Adhemar has retained its medieval architecture: walls, castle, narrow streets and ancient habitat, now completely restored. At the end of the village are the remains of the Renaissance château built by Michel Escalin. St Michel roman church holds 3 naves and a western apse. Nearly one mile of the village, the val des Nymphes was a Celt praying ground, then it became roman, Christian. The people deserted the vale in the 12th to shelter themselves behind the walls of the city.
